Get ready for some cuteness overload, you guys, because Zendaya just dished on the thing she loves most about her boyfriend, Tom Holland, and it’s seriously going to make your hearts burst!
“In an actor way, I appreciate that he really loves being Spider-Man. It’s a lot of pressure — you take on the role of a superhero wherever you go. To the little kid who walks by, you are Spider-Man. I think he handled that so well. And seeing him at work, even though he’s not a Virgo [laughs], he is a perfectionist,” she gushed. “Our director allowed me to come in every day [of the shoot], and it was cool to see how he cares so much about his work and making it right. I watched him do a fight scene all day, which is exhausting. He’d do a move, come back to the monitors, watch it, and say, ‘I can do that better.’ I’d be like, ‘Dude, you got it.’ But he wants us to be perfect, and I really appreciate that.”
The actress continued, “He’s a fun time. Very charismatic, can make anybody feel comfortable and have a good laugh and a good chat. A good chat — I sound so British.”
When Did Tom Holland And Zendaya Start Dating?
After years of speculation, Holland and Zendaya finally confirmed that they were dating in July 2021, when they were spotted sharing in a steamy make out session while driving around Los Angeles, CA.
In photos obtained by Page Six, the two stars could be seen packing on the PDA while riding around in Holland’s $125,000 Audi sports car. Earlier that day, they were also caught leaving a building with Zendaya’s mom, Claire Stoermer, so it appears that the actor has already met his girlfriend’s family!
The pair first met all the way back in 2016 when they were both cast in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And right away, they instantly hit it off and got super close — constantly hanging out and sharing tons of cute pics together online. Zendaya later shared Holland’s first impression of her, and boy, was it adorable.
“He says when we first met it was super awkward because he went for a handshake and I went for a hug,” she told Variety. “But I don’t remember that. I thought it was cool.”

Over the years, they attended a bunch of red carpet events side by side, and there was no denying that the pair had a lot of chemistry on the screen. Plus, get this — they even appeared on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter together, and it got people wondering — were they more than friends?!

During an interview at the premiere of their movie, Holland couldn’t stop gushing over Zendaya. He did, however, refer to her as his “best friend.” He said, “We are like the best of friends. She’s so great and amazing. I’m a little worried [about dealing with fame … but] Zendaya is super famous and she’s been through this and I just call her up and say, ‘How do I manage being famous?’ I’m very glad I have a friend like her.”
By 2017, everyone was convinced that something was going on between them, which is why when People Magazine reported that they were indeed a couple, everyone was so happy about it!
“They started seeing each other while they were filming Spider-Man,” a source told them. “They’ve been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye but they’ve gone on vacations with each other and try and spend as much time as possible with one another.”
Another insider added, “They’re both really ambitious and they challenge each other — but, most importantly, they make each other crack up. They seem to have a really similar sense of humor and love joking around together. They have great banter back and forth.”

But according to Zendaya, it was all lies. She reposted the article on Twitter and claimed it wasn’t true, writing, “Wait wait… My favorite is when it says we go on vacations together HA! I haven’t been on a vacation in years! [How about you] @TomHolland1996?”

She also told Variety, “We are friends. No [there’s no romance]. He’s a great dude. He’s literally one of my best friends. This past how many months we’ve had to do press tours together. There’s very few people that will understand what that’s like at 20 years old.”
Despite her denying the rumors, the costars continued to spend a lot of time together. And when Zendaya walked the red carpet at the 2018 Met Gala, Holland took to Instagram to obsess over her look!
“All hail the queen. Killing it mate,” he wrote, alongside a pic of her from the event. How cute is that?!
They also shared super cute tributes for each other on their birthdays. Oh, and did we mention that their mutual friend Skai Jackson‘s mom seemingly confirmed that they were secretly dating in an Instagram comment?
“It’s true,” she wrote to a fan who asked if they were together. “They been on the low for a while.”
She then deleted it and denied that she ever wrote the comment, however, many fans were quick to take screenshots. The actor later opened up about how hard it is for him to date in the public eye to GQ Magazine, and many people thought that he was referring to his relationship with Zendaya. However this is still unconfirmed, of course.
“It is incredibly frustrating. It’s very nerve-racking. It means that if you are dating someone, you have to be really conscious of their feelings, because if something does happen between the two of you, it’s not just happening between the two of you, it’s happening in front of the entire world,” he told the outlet. “And it can be very complicated.”
Now, however, it looks like there’s no denying that they’re in a relationship, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for them.
